Josie goin' for the stick!!
Zoey with the pull away fake.
Roxy the otter.

Aloha,
This was a funky day indeed with the warm temperatures, lack of snow at this time of year, and mud, mud and more mud. We all know that this was not the most exciting winter we have had in many years and some of us were disappointed. But I have to say the sunny days were much more abundant than last and quite honestly, the hiking was great! I would have liked to have skied more with my furry friends but what da hay, we get what we get. I would not recommend this hike right now with the way the trails were looking and we did not see anyone else except for a few dogs down by the pond of Gorgoza park. Sasha and Josie (Boxer and Pit bull Terrier) are getting along nicely with the pack and seem to be having a blast. It always takes a few adventures for most dogs to totally settle in with the pack and feel comfortable following a new pack leader. We really like these two and their mom and hope they stick around for the spring session.
Schwaby Tip. Recess- When your dogs are just hanging around you, doing things on their own, wandering off into the neighborhood frequently on their own, lacking direction from their pack leaders. If we are not giving our dogs directions throughout the day and they are making their own decisions most of the time, this can lead them to making poor decisions , aggression and much more. Teaching and working with your dog is on going all the time, not in sessions. If we give them directions and jobs, they are using their brains and working for and with us. This makes them happy and relaxed (calm submissive) making for a better balanced dog. It is important for the pack leader to be calm assertive when giving directions!! Your dogs will learn to love, trust and respect you more and you in turn will do the same with them. Balance.....we are all looking for it.
