Oct 27th Solamere & UOP trails adventures

Aloha,
I am diggin" the new two one hour hikes, and I think the dogs are into it as well. It gives us a break in the middle and we are able to go to places we normally would not visit. Today started off with the Solamere loop over to the Gap trail up Snow Top and back down Solamere with Bodi carrying the dog pack charging with Gracie on his tail, Annie in hot pursuit, Roxy in fourth, D-bear and Max coming up behind the pack leader. It was a chilly 35 degrees when we started and maybe got to 40, it is here folks, get ready!! Our second hike was on the UOP (Utah Olympic Park) trail which was really cool and a first for me. The dogs seemed to enjoy it as well. It is a short but sweet trail with great views and took just over and hour out and back. Fun day with my special friends, hope you all had a good day too. Peace....Schwaby

Oct 25th Eagle Pointe & April Mountain adventures

Aloha,
KPCW predicted snow in PC today and they were right, just a dash, a teaser if you will of the white stuff along with some rain that freshened things up. We stayed dry for both hikes which is always a bonus. Our first hour was in Eagle Pointe just north of Round valley with Bodi, Roxy and Reo where we stumbled upon a large porcupine in a scrub oak tree. The dogs were quite curious yet listened to me and respected the big fella. For our second adventure to April Mountain, Delilah Bear and Dryfus jumped in for the fun, windy and in awesome condition Gamble Oaks trail, always a challenging ride and a great hike. The weather stayed cloudy and cool for us as we bush whacked our way on a game trail eventually getting back to our Gamble oaks trail to finish off the day escaping the rain once again, ha haa.. life is good. Peace. S-

Aloha,
The last two days with out a doubt have been absolutely amazing!! Yesterday my family and I went to the lake to SUP and it was pure glass and in the 70's. Today was almost as perfect with the yellow leaves covering the trails, 63 degrees, happy fun dogs and an awesome hike. Our route went something like this; Empire Link trail-Tour de Suds-Moose Bones-T&G1-Road to Ruby and back onto Empire Link. Todays crew-Roxy Max Dryfus and Reo and all good dogs on the hike:)
Peace out. S-

Oct 21st Rossi Hill

ALOHA FRIDAY!!

Oct 20th Summit Park

Aloha,
Oh what an adventure we had on this gorgeous day in one of our all time favorite places to be in summit county!! Summit Park is always a good time and we frequent this amazing place for its beauty and many different routes. We adventured in an area that I am not as familiar with and was lost for a few minutes bush whacking on the numerous game trails through the thick forest until we could see the ridge that we were supposed to be on clear across the valley. My pack was loving every minute of it though with all the wonderful wildlife smells and the off piste action!! It made for a 2 hr 30 min hike by the time we arrived back at the truck. BIG and FUN day for my 7 pack of four legged adventurers and me. Peace. M-

Oct 17th-18th fall adventures

Aloha,
PCMR and Daly Canyon this week could not have been any nicer with temps in the 60's, colorful leaves blanketing the trails and our moose friends coming down the hill. Yes we are starting to see our moose friends more frequently as winter approaches, always a treat and sooo cool! We have the upmost respect for our large forest buddy as you can see from this photo of him and Reo. The energy of the dogs with the cooler air has stepped up a notch making this Schwaby's favorite time of the year for hiking and riding. I hope you all are getting out to enjoy this awesome time as well. Life is good...Peace. Schwaby

Oct 14th Round Valley adventure

Aloha,
How about this Indian summer!! My four pack and me decided to visit Round Valley which turned out to be a good choice. The trails were great, with shade, other dogs, and some bikers mixed in. There was this peaceful place hidden in the scrub oak with prayer flags that we sat in to breathe and enjoy the view of our beautiful town. We are very fortunate to be in this amazing place we call home. Namaste'.....Michael

Schwaby Dogs adventure for Oct 12th & 13th

Aloha,
It was nice to come back to sunny weather after our trip down south to Lake Powell. Not quite as warm but it will due. Daly canyon yesterday was some sweet hiking and running with the fallen leaves on the trails and still an abundance of colors. Super dogs and hike, makes for a good day.
Summit park was nice as well today with only a few muddy spots that should dry out in the next couple of days for all you bikers. We started out on Grease Mark headed up Short stack meandered along Over Easy and finished on Road to Wos and short stack for a total of 2hrs 20mins. My 6 pack was bad ass and we all were getting our groove on running through the woods. We hope this weather stays for awhile. Peace. Schwaby

October 3rd 4th & 5th adventures

Aloha,
The start of this week was brilliant with all the booming colors and ideal weather! Monday was an interesting day with three different playgrounds. My excellent 5 pack and me started out on the Root Cellar trail in Daly over to Grave Digger before getting called out by my wife for something she needed out of my truck. We met with her at the dog park by NAC and played there with my daughter Kya and some other dogs, my first time at this particular park, and I have to admit it was fun playing with Kya and the other dogs. I am not a big fan of these small dog parks. After my wife and daughter left for their vacation we ended our day with a jaunt in Round Valley. Talk about variety! Fun day!
Tuesdays adventure put us on the Collins and Robs trails which were in fine shape and quite lovely. Another nice day to be outside.
Wednesdays adventure was another story...As you can see in the pics it was looking like a storm was coming and it came all right. We were about 30 minutes into the hike on the T&G trails before the rain started to pour and then snow by the time we were on The Road to Ruby. Everybody was soaked to the bone and running in the mud. It's here my friends, lets get excited! I do hope that we get some more nice days before the white stuff really starts to fly. See you next week, my wife and I are headed to Powell. Peace and Mahalo. Schwaby
