Feb 24th Blue bird day in Empire Pass

Aloha Friday,
With the skis strapped to my pack, a quick hello to my buddy Mike, brilliant blue skies and some amped up dogs, we headed up the Guardsman pass road to hopefully make some tele turns in the fresh pow. On the way I took these action shots of Kaya making her own freshies and lovin' it!!
After hoofing it to the first ridge my dreams of t-turns came true and I was smiling all the way down after making three or four monster turns, yeah hoooo!! We continued up the road towards Brighton and was able to get some speed to run those doggies. What an awesome way to end the week! Lets keep doin' that snow dance...Peace. Schwaby

Feb 24th My Moms birthday adventure

Aloha Mom,
This blue bird day was dedicated to my Mom, Frances Whitely Schwab, who left this world almost two years ago. She was an animal whisperer and loved all creatures and nature. My family always had cats, lots of them, a couple dogs, horses, geese, guinea pigs, one bird, turtles and even a rat named lightning. We all still have at least two furry friends and continue to love and cherish these amazing creatures each and every day. Daly canyon with Kaya, Kip, Shadow, Roxy and Dryfus was a snowshoe through fresh pow pow up the middle of Daly to Empire link and down a natural half pipe which was a total blast with a few face shots for the dogs.
Sweeeeeet!! Peace. Schwaby

Feb 23rd #2 adventure to Round Valley

Round Valley has not been the best this year for skate skiing but the hiking has been GREAT!!
There has been a few moose sightings this year which is always a treat.

Feb 23rd adventures

Kaya, Delila bear, Jasper, Gus, Zoey, Reo & Kip

Aloha,
Pinebrook has been a favorite adventure spot for many years. The trails wind through a variety of floura fauna and we usually see nice dogs and people when we're there. The aspen section is awesome and so was the couple inches of new snow, its starting to stack up people, slowly but surely.
Ontario By Pass connecter to Tour de Suds is another personal favorite. Pine trees and aspens line this fun trail and there is usually a descent snow pack along with many different routes to travel. This was the third hike of the day and we were beat from a big day of adventures.

Life is good. Peace- Schwaby

Feb 20th adventures

Aloha,
Mayflower with Gus, Shadow, Roxy, Reo, Ikar and Ivan was a bit crusty but the sun was out and we made fresh tracks in this old western movies sight. Something was in the air because all the boys were out of control and pushing all of Schwaby's and the girls buttons. It must have been all of that testosterone flying around and a little puppy power as well, if ya know what I mean.
Iron Canyon was our second hike with Gus, Roxy, Reo and the big fella Dryfus thrown into the mix. I never grow tired of this beautiful and challenging hike. Due to the popularity of this one, we always see other dogs and lots of people to socialize and play with making for a very satisfying adventure almost every time.
Peace....M

Feb 16th and 17th adventures

Aloha,

Thursday was one of the most spectacular days of the winter and I erased all my photos before down loading them onto my computer!! Bummer! Oh well, say la vie. Aloha Friday was a good day as well with Ikar, Ivan and Roxy in Eagle Pointe I'm calling it. Just across the street from the White Barn on 224. There are some super cool trails and we rallied all through them and even found a TREASURE! Just a four point antler that one of our deer friends left for us. Summit Park was our next high altitude adventure with a new pack member joining us. His name is Gus the "Golden boy" retriever and he has a lot of fun energy. Dryfus was not to sure of him at first but by the middle of our hike on the top of this peak they were pals. Our last adventure of the day, Schwaby grabbed Shadow for the final hike of the day in the Colony on his skis. Wow, I new she was fast but didn't know how fast she was until I stepped into my skis and flew down the cordaroy groomers just before the sun went down. Few, what a day!! You all have a fabulous weekend!!
Peace out! Schwaby

Feb 10th adventures

Aloha Friday,
Days like this are why I love my job! Skate skiing with Roxy and Dryfus in Round Valley and BC skiing with Roxy, Ikar and Ivan in East Canyon. Round Valley was full of action with skiers, runners and lots of dogs!! It felt great to be back on the skinny skis.
East Canyon was the total opposite, quiet, peaceful and absolutely gorgeous with a few clouds in the sky and plenty of snow to play and a super fun down hill. Life is good:)
Have a great weekend everybody.
Peace. Schwaby
