I personally am very excited about 2012!! A new start, new beginnings, clean slate and hopefully some fresh powder as well. My family and me brought in the new year down in St George where the weather was fabulous! We road our bikes and paddled on the Sand Hollow reservoir, what a cool place that is!! The temperatures down south were chilly in the am and climbed to the low sixties by the afternoon, pleasant, I highly recommend it if you are having the snow blues. It has been so nice here though, with a couple layers and the right timing you can spin around town or jump on the trails after you make a few am turns on the boards! It's kinda like California but without the traffic!! Just looking at the bright side my friends. Schwaby jumped into the new year with a bang going on three hikes with eight excited doggies and gorgeous sunny weather, you gotta love this sunny weather! Robs trail rocked, snow covered the hole way in the lovely trees, with moose hanging out and plenty of squirrels chirping away. Those little guys drive the dogs nuts!! No pun intended. Lost Prospector (LP) was not as good with 2 parts snow and 2 parts mud but still sunny and happy dogs. For the hat trick, our third hike was a leisurely early evening stroll in Round Valley on the icy, somewhat muddy and in a few spots even dry ski trail. Not recommended for skiing right now, but decent for a walk-about with your pooch.
All in all, I'd have to say it was a great start to the new year, with happy dogs, sunny sky's and a brand new year.....who could ask for more.
