April 9th adventure

Shyanne is the grey Weimaraner

Aloha,
I have been slacking big time this week with my blog, please accept my apology and I will do a better job in the future. Mondays hike was up the 24/7 trail starting at the intersection of the East canyon road on the lower Jeremy Ranch road. You can get to Mormon flats via the dirt road heading northwest. The trail was mostly dry on this day up until the first photo which was taken on the Flying Dog trail that is north facing, it looked to be very wet and muddy so we turned around which we needed to do anyway. The front side like I said was great and one could probably do most of the south and southwest facing terrain hiking and biking. If I had not introduced Shyanne to you all yet, she is the Weimaraner that stayed with us for a week while Mo's sisters family was on spring break. It was nice to have a dog in our house even though Jazzy was not thrilled about it. The two did start getting along towards the last day. I am excited about riding my bike after a day like this.

April 5th and 6th adventures

Aloha
Seeing our Daly moose friends is always a joy and I am in awe of these beautiful creatures. Jasper and Roxy were getting a closer look at these two, and Jasper decided to try and get even closer and mama moose gave him a quick charge and he realized that he was way out of his league.
Daly's trails are mostly covered with snow and the main road is mostly dry. It will be goopy very soon.
On our second hike of the day we skied up into White Pine canyon and the snow was very fast!! My form was really bad and I struggled to slow down. Those skinny skis are SCARY when your hauling ass and falling was not an option because it hurts. Other than a group of snowmobilers, we had the place all to ourselves. I think the skis may be going away for the year.
Friday was awesome with the little snow that dropped, felt like winter again and we rallied down the Ontario by pass trail onto the Empire link trail. The snow was nice and firm and the temp was a cool 30 degrees with light snow. Great way to end the week.
Life is good. Schwaby

April 3rd adventures in Round Valley

We found this random water hole while running on the game trails
Aloha,
Now this place is ready for riding and I am sooo pumped up, especially since we are living right next to the trails. Lets get this spring party started!!
Ride on! Schwaby

April 3rd adventures

Aloha,
We have two new members in our pack!! Sasha and Josie, the Boxer and small Pit Bull are joining us for the spring session and were loving our adventure with their new friends in Empire pass. They fit right in and the rest of the gang welcomed them with open paws. What a gorgeous day up there, another one of our favorite adventure spots and the road is totally dry on the approach with plenty of snow to hike and snowshoe and up higher probably ok skiing. We did a small loop around Empire ridge and am excited for the 17th when the whole resort will be open again to my pack and me!! Yeah babe!! Peace out. Schwaby

April 2nd Summit Park adventure

Aloha,
Even Summit Parks snow is going fast but it is still quite nice and there is enough to hike on, no skiing or riding, sorry. Lets just get on the mt. bike train and winter be over!! My good friend Ian and his sweet dog Kaya joined us today for our fun adventure. We had an awesome pack today with high energy and great attitudes. There are a few dirt and mud patches on the sunny sides but in the trees the snow remains. Always an awesome place to be, I highly recommend this one to you and your dogs, just make sure you go by the 3 C's clean courteous and considerate.
Peace...Michael

March 30th Dutch Hollow adventure

Aloha Friday,
Holy summer like conditions with out the leaves and flowers in Dutch Hollow today. The trails were 99% dry and the stream that was flowing huge last year was totally dry. Well there is a good side to all of this, we will be riding much earlier this year and hopefully enjoy a long spring, I am liking the idea of that.
Enjoy the weekend. Michael

March 29th King Road & Colony adventures

Aloha,
From spring to winter as the story goes these days in the mountains of PC. King road trail and the actual King road were mostly clear with some snow on the trail and looking like an early bike season?? Well I for one am getting over tired old man winter and ready for happy shiny spring, how about you.
The colony was totally different from the earlier hike. We skinned up whitepine canyon through the forest and ended up in a bowl full of snow and some pretty fun turns at the top until we hit the slush and it was slow going from there on out.
Peace. Schwaby
